As usual, you are pretty much the opposite of right. The pill, including the morning after pill, works primarily by suppressing ovulation so that there is no egg to be fertilized let alone expelled.
The same hormones may thin the uterine lining over time, which has caused some scientists to theorize that any stray eggs (caused by say missing a couple pills) would then be more likely to fail to implant. But not only has this mechanism not been observed in action, the fact that people can and do become pregnant after missing pills suggests that the thinning is not very important if it is a factor at all.
