I broke down and bought all new components from amazon and newegg. I tested a few of the old ones on my new motherboard. Couple of weird results. 1) no video signal from my old video card, though the new computer would power on and boot. 2) new computer would not boot and wouldn't even stay powered on with my old secondary hdd attached. The primary hdd still works fine, as does the old soundcard.

As such, i have an extra CPU and four sticks of DDR2 ram circa 2007 that I don't need anymore, does anyone want them? If you or someone you know can actually use them, I'll mail them for free.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Everything else went to the recycling center today.
