- Ryan Gosling plays the role of an autistic fellow who is a savant wrt driving cars.
- What was up with the special fx mask that he wears for no reason? He didn't hide from anyone, and the guy he was after knew it was him right from jump.
- Ryan Gosling walks into fancy restaurants with his white leather Scorpion jacket covered in blood/gore, sits down to a casual meal like nothing is out of the ordinary, and no one acknowledges it. I'm totally ok with surrealism, but even surrealism has to have it's own sort of internal consistency and logic, which didn't really seem much in evidence anywhere else in the movie.
- The Angelo Badalamenti soundtrack was kind of all over the place, but is mostly shitty synth-pop. Why?
