I didn't even fire my gun in the first level, I wanted the 30 melee kills achievement and I figured the enemies were only going to get tougher as the game wore on. I got the 500 dismemberments achievement midway through the third level, which I guess means I must have encountered exactly 100 corpses by that point because you *know* I didn't leave a single limb on anything. I was doing stuff like swatting at bodies on tables with my swipe attack to get them in a position where my stomp would connect. By the time I got kinesis I was ecstatic, because it meant I wasn't going to have to spend twenty stomps trying to dislodge a corpse from a corner so I could stomp it in exactly the right way to sever that last vestigial flipper. I probably should've just used the plasma cutter, but I didn't know how stingy this game was going to be with ammo (answer: not very).
Lowest point of the game so far: trying to lure one of those mutant baby things down off a wall so it would grab me and I could add another dropkick to my score sheet. At that moment I was honestly wishing I could trade one of my guns for a pair of car keys to jingle. |
