worst strategy game: Puzzle Quest Galactrix by fabio 04/13/2011, 10:49am PDT So I kept hearing how Puzzle Quest was this great fun time waster but never saw it on sale despite being 50 years old. Saw Galactrix in the bargain bin at Best Buy and snagged it. Unplayably awful. You know something's wrong when your cartridge game features 10 second load times just to access a menu. I suppose you could take all the time in the world to map out what combos would be set off by various moves, but the whole thing is so fucking tedious that you never feel like bothering. Plus, half the time you'll be popping gems near the edge of the board, meaning new gems will randomly come in from off board, meaning half the time you can't plan ahead because combos will be totally random based on what new gems come in. And then one of the game modes is time based, making it your best bet to literally tap the screen at random instead of trying to stop and think. What a piece of shit. After this and Meteos, I've realized that for the past 10 years, wide spread praise for any kind of Bust a Move-like has been code for "fucking run!"
