I love the graphics in Diablo. The digitized stop-motion monsters, combined with the environments that look like they were assembled out of dungeon tiles, give the whole thing the appearance of a table-top game come to life. It's much easier for me to get invested in the fantasy of owning an enchanted HeroQuest set than the fantasy of actually being some big fucking hero.
