Why do people want to cheat? It's weird. There could be a lot of reasons, but I skimmed all the comments and saw almost none.

People are cheating to unlock multiplayer portraits, most likely. Portraits unlocks are tied to achievements, you see, and people are driven to cheating because the default portraits are incredibly fucking lame. At the start you have a choice of some sort of combo of hick/frat guy or a twenty-something chick in business casual. All the space marine and ghost and zergling portraits are locked behind "play 500 1v1 games as zerg" type bullshit.

And maybe people just want to spawn 20 battlecruisers and see shit blow up? BANWORTHY
It seems to be just a bunch of angry dudes who see no need to explain themselves (because they are perfectly, permanently right) plus one or two seemingly sane people pointing out that the game already has an extremely easy "easy mode" AND its own legal cheat functions AND a map editor that lets you "cheat" as much as you could ever want.
Why do people need to justify cheating in a single player campaign? Jesus Christ.
