1.) If I remember right, the car bomb mission let you attempt to save the wife but you were simply too far away to succeed? Meaning, I think they showed a cutscene but then gave you a few seconds where you were in control of the guy just down the street from the bomb. I replayed that part a few times trying to save the wife but it was just not possible. That was a neat immersive touch, though, because you felt like you could have saved her if only you were a little faster. Meanwhile you are running towards the car (yelling "nooooooooo" in slow-motion) only to get blown back by the enormous fireball.
2.) The part towards the endgame where your mafia buddy talks about quitting his job as button man to open up that pizza place he's always dreamed about. It reminded me of when Marge is telling Fat Tony that his options are not limited to being a mob boss just because he's Italian. He could also run a pizza shop.... or be an organ grinder.....
3.) The mission kind of early on where you hijack a truck full of cargo (cigars? or diamonds? or cigars AND diamonds and wine and jewelry?). That mission, for whatever reason, really made me feel like I had stumbled on a fucking treasure trove of loot. I felt like I was entering the big-time and the sky's the limit. Much more so than in other games where you get the +1 longsword or $5,000 GTA BUX or an unlocked helicopter or whatever. It felt like a real reward, although I can't remember why. |
