What character are you using? Generally the advice is to keep your distance and zone him, and play footsies to keep him out of range. You shouldn't be jumping in at all. Why are you trying to get close to a character that has to grab you to win? You should be forcing him to jump in on you.
It also sounds like Zangief is your first real taste of the concept of safe moves versus unsafe moves. All your "ground attacks" that get punished by green hand say to me that you're just throwing out low roundhouses (unsafe) instead of starting up combos with safe light punches/kicks which, if blocked, let you block the return fire.
But yeah, just abandon your pride and play online. It's a whole different game and the wins are sweeter, even if infrequent. |
