or holograms or photon injected corneal descriptors. OLEDs will indeed trounce every current display and at response times that will amaze, though currently desktop-sized displays aren't ready for mass manufacture.
So let's spend your new money NOW and get the LCD.
I have replaced five very terrific and large CRTs in my home office with five very terrific and large LCDs. I've never been happier. Heat has been reduced sufficiently that the paint doesn't blister and warp anymore, my eyes love me again. I also got back 2/3s of all the desk space in the room and can move them around with one arm. I was happy to give the CRTs away to any family or friends that wanted to carry the 270lb monstrosities away. This makes me a hero and almost guarantees entry to paradise after I die, negating my many, many sins. Bonus!
The two (23" and 20") connected to the Mac are nearly proof quality for print color.
Two more are connected to Windows (game) boxes with high-end video cards (for games), this might be a factor since you will need to drive them at high resolutions (for games). For the hell of it I attached this to a Windows box (for games) and it remains there today. The other is this and although that is probably OLD and SHITTY by now, I am still loving it very much (for games).
The last is now used for troubleshooting other boxes, the only one that is VGA only. It's still an excellent display (for games).
Why you want DVI.
I've not gone shopping for displays in months, so your own lazy ass will have to do the research on what is currently the best price/performance value. Motherfucker. |
