| Sometimes a cutscene would go on and on and I will have totally forgotten that I could skip it. Near the end you finally shut down THE PATRIOTS SYSTEM OF CONTROL which is some giant computer bank that has a bunch of tiny towers around it like a graveyard, in fact they have HOLOGRAPHIC FLOWERS IN FRONT OF THEM which shut down when they start installing the virusy shit I guess.
They show a bunch of stuff happening at once, like all the other characters starting to run out of ammo and the enemies are closing in on them, Snake is all fucked up and doing his Joe Cocker impression which, like most of the rest of the "drama" in the game, is unintentionally funny, and then it all just ends with Otacon having typed enough on his keyboard and he says WE DID IT and all the enemies shut down, literally the enemy soldiers just lay on the ground and die, the evil robot drones explode. It's literally less fulfilling of a climactic finish than Voyager showing up at Earth, Janeway saying "we made it" and cut to credits. |
