I think I just realized, it was No More Heroes that had the most responsive dodging, because you could hit it and it would roll you right away. The fight system was nowhere near as complex in NMH though, because it was mostly slashing away at enemies to drain their health, then do a finishing move where you flick the waggle stick in one of four directions. There were a couple other things to it, but there weren't many more moves. I did end up using as many moves as there were in the game, including all the block breakers and shit, but still it's only half as many moves as you even start with in DMC3.
Of course, you don't take nearly as much damage from fighting in NMH. |
