In the past couple of weeks I've had a giant hit on my CPU, it pins up to 100% frequently. I'm running a virus scan right now (House Call), and that's popping up to 100% occasionally, but I guess I would expect that. The real problem is, Cubase sessions that I ran easily a few months ago can't open because they pin the CPU at 100% and then bomb out the computer. Steam loading up pins it at 100% for a few seconds.
I replaced the PSU a few weeks ago, but the ASUS Probe utility says the mobo and cpu temp are fine. Could I have hooked the power back up in such a way that it has less CPU now? It seems implausible, but that's the only change I can remember making. I guess I installed some new drivers for a USB Midi interface. That and I downloaded lots of latex rhinocerous balloon sex movies from BitTorrent before it went away.
ASUS Mobo, 3.0Ghz Pentium, 1GB ram. Any ideas? |
