Look the world is a vast and weird place.
You want to look like this world 'owed you a miilion bucks'?
Bang.
You want to sound so angst-ridden like somebody just 'scolded your mother'?
Bang.
You wanna be coolly bland like these guys?
Or do you wanna get involved in some real raw shit? Or maybe you'd just like to be a person who does surprising things sometimes. Think of it like: a really well-developed character in a comic book of immense depth - maybe that would have someone who travels a segment of the world not much bigger than the lower 48, and who is an entertaining dick who makes bad decisions everywhere he goes.
There are always these anonymous posters who show up whenever something really interesting happens on Caltrops, and they always want to hint whitely that they partake only of the status quo (a status quo that doesn't actually exist.) It's like 8 layers of unnecessary lying. QB's one simple layer (he's not a loser and he won't end up poor and unhappy) is comparatively so realistic that it's painful.
