Fringe versus Witch Hunter Robin by Zsenitan 05/24/2009, 8:54am PDT
Robin: About oo spooky mysteries caused by WITCHES who have MAGIC pretty straightfoward.
Fringe: About oo spooky mysteries caused by everything that could possibly happen. EVER. POSSIBLY.

Robin: Actually about how when Japan and the Catholic Church had a depravity contest, the Catholics flinched.
Fringe: Actually about ooo spooky corporation?

Robin: Main character is a shy 15 year old shut-in blonde who crushes on the coworker most likely to kill her and who might be a bad guy NO WAIT he's actually... A GOOD GUY. Said guy is not stupid enough to pork a 15 year old.
Fringe: Main character is a faultless FBI blonde who crushes on a guy who's a bad guy NO WAIT he's actually... A GOOD GUY. Thank god he's in a coma. Said guy is stupid enough to pork someone who is CLEARLY a main character. I called "he's food" within 5 minutes of the pilot's beginning and I don't even watch TV.

Robin: Braniac character sticks mostly to being smart, is not always right, and has been known to drop the ball.
Fringe: Braniac character is good at every possible kind of science, "flaw" mostly irrelevant and played for character development exclusively, never fails so long as he is conscious.

Robin: Fundamentally values trust, teamship, and the will and right to live.
Fringe: Fundamentally values dramatic lighting and necromancy.

Robin: The climax of the show involves learning about two double agents, one triple-cross, and the end result of reducing the value of people only to their immediate utility to you.
Fringe: The climax of the show involves reliving a national nightmare with Spock.
