Good news, it got better again. by Jerry Whorebach 04/24/2009, 8:14pm PDT The last six-episode arc was pretty funny. It actually built to a satisfying payoff instead of petering out like so much SNL sketch. According to TV Guide, "A black guy comes to the Office with mischief in his heart. And then ???" It's on Hulu if you missed it, Eps 18-23. They bring Ryan back and if he wasn't my favourite character before (I think it might have been Kali), he is now. On the other hand, the new Office spin-off, Parks and Recreation, is (some would say predictably) mediocre. The one saving grace is the recurring character of the asshole who fell in a pit and broke both his legs. I don't know if they gave him all the good lines for some bizarre reason or if the actor's just really fucking great at improvising, but either way he's making Aziz Ansari look bad and I didn't EVEN know that was possible.
