It was only a couple of weeks ago that I said right in this very forum that The US Office wasn't bad. As has already been said to death, the first two seasons are really good once they started to forge a path away from the British version. But then an odd thing happened. The more soap opera they added to the show, the more people loved it! Jim and Pam finally got together to the delight of every cunt on the internet but then the writers were faced with a problem: how do they maintain the dramatic tension? The answer for this season was to fabricate non-problems like moving Pam 3 hours away for a 3 month school program. Or an episode where Jim and Pam miss each other's calls all day. They keep leaving voicemail! I hope their love is strong enough to survive this! (SPOILER: it is, because Jim is a fucking saint!)
So The Office is now a full fledged nerd soap opera and fat girl fantasy. The latest episode reached an absolute nadir in a season that can only be described as an elevator to hell, or perhaps a fucking elevator to hell. Only one character even attempts to be funny while everyone else has relationship problems. Let's check the internet for some fan reaction so we can see who these writers are pleasing, because it ain't me. I've chosen quotes from both my standby kitten pile, Television Without Pity, and for variety I've sprinkled in some quotes from a popular video game forum. You know, for the male perspective.
(note: "Jam" is what these "people" call Jim and Pam)

What another great epi!
...
Felt so sorry for Michael when he got kicked out of his room. Evil conceirge lady!
But I melted into a pool of water at the look on Jim's face after their kiss was interrupted by Dwight: he never took his eyes from Pam and the look was so much of a man in love. I giggled and sighed and my Jam heart beat overtime. .

Okay that Jam ending wiped any comments I had about the episode. Squeeee. The lighting was so pretty, like in their sidewalk proposal fake out. Aw I love them.

Great episode. I loved the ending shot with Jim and Pam -- Jenna Fischer looked incredibly bathed in the auburn of the setting sun.

That was a really good one. I'm glad Michael was finally able to tell BossMan off to his face over the phone.

I loved this episode! Oscar and Andy's new BFF-ness is beyond adorable to me. Andy's "I had to go all the way to Cananda to get to know the guy who sits 20 feet away from me. And he is DELIGHTFUL!" made me laugh and it warmed my heart.
Michael telling off David Wallace in the airport broke my heart. But it also left me with thinking "Yeah! You go, girl!"

Who else thought Andy and Oscar were going to hook up?
Sanitario666: no one?
Sanitario666: fags?
Sanitario666: faggots?
Sanitario666: fruits?
Sanitario666: Those are my guesses

I sent my girlfriend an e-mail saying 'Oh my god, I think Andy and Oscar are gonna get together!'
I'm still not sure they won't!
INC: yeah, don't send the followup email yet
INC: I like the guy emailing his girlfriend
INC: because let's be honest, that "girlfriend" is a minimum of 500 miles away
INC: they're just like Jim and Pam!
