It is a long convoluted story and involves me being scammed for my money. :(
IT MAY MAKE US LOOK RETARDED A guy from the next building over came over here a couple days ago and asked if I wanted to make any money, my answer would've been no, but he said he just needed a ride up to the pawn shop, his car was in the shop and he lost his wallet. I already recognized him because he was the guy who was emptying out the apartment across from our door when the people there were evicted and all their shit had to be thrown out into the street. He said the pawn shop was just up blah blah, so I was like well alright if he's paying me, I wasn't doing anything else all week (New Years vacation woo). The first pawn shop we went to wouldn't take the sump pump he was trying to sell, so we went to another, and I didn't really care I was driving this guy around, although knowing how this story ends it is not a good beginning. I drove him to a couple other places, it still wasn't that far away, but no one would take it. Also he went to a friend's, saying he wanted to see if his friend would buy it, and me and his beat up old girlfriend waited in the car for almost a half hour, just to find out that he wasn't giving his friend the hard sell on this sump pump, but he was just chatting away like I figured he would. Anyway I told him I can't really drive much further anyway because of the transmission problem, where after driving for more than an hour straight and running hot, the transmission fluid pretty much empties itself out. He, Robert THAT IS HIS REAL NAME, said that this was an easy fix because it would just be blah blah blah and pretty much sounded like he knew what he was talking about, and he said he worked for some auto shops in the past doing this and that and break specialist etc. He said that if I got the parts from Autozone, which would be really cheap, he could fix it for like $40. I thought this was alright, because he apparently is a Mr. fix it sort, I mean he was rebuilding the bathroom in that apartment across from us also. He reminded me of our uncle Frank. Anyway he said there were some other problems with the car, like the exhaust, which I knew about, our car had been really loud for the past several months, plus car exhaust coming up the doors instead of going out the back of the car, so we knew there was a hole, and he said he could fix it really easy and cheap also if I got a few more parts. I would like to point out right here that he did fix the exhaust, the car runs much quieter and the exhaust actually comes out the back. How long that will last I don't know, but at this point I had given him $90 total. Now he wanted to borrow money to buy this part that he needed to finish fixing blah blah that was $23, so I had to pull a $40 and break a 20, so he wanted some Burger King. I said alright, if this will fix the car, and he said he would pay me back. I should point out that he has paid us back for this, assuming that the $2,500 stays in my bank account, which it should because I guess the check is legit but let's get to that later. Anyway I had already paid him when Mary called me and asked about how she saw me driving this guy around for this and that shit. I had also driven him to the bank, which for some reason was like 5 miles away when there are 3 banks down the street but he apparently doesn't have an account with them. He cashed a check there and so he had money and that's when he gave me back like $10 that he owed me for something else also. He had mentioned at this point that he had a $2,500 check, but he needed his driver's license first or some shit, and that was mailed out at the beginning of the week and he should be getting it soon blah blah. Anyway, when Mary asked me about him, I told her what I did and that I gave him money(!!!!!!!) which wasn't good, because she told me he's a crackhead, and a huge huge huge moocher always coming over wanting cigarettes, and in fact right after I paid him for fixing the exhaust, she said that she saw a crack dealer go up his apartment, and I found out later that he indeed blew all of the money that I gave him right then and there, because later that night he kicked his OL LADY out because SHE WAS BEING A BITCH, and she was arrested, and he wanted to borrow another $20 to pay her bail. I did this because he was fixing the car and would pay me back (which he did do technically) when he was able to get that check blah blah when his driver's license came. Anyway he apparently had the grand idea of just asking me to deposit this check and giving him the money when it cleared, so he wouldn't have to wait. I told him that I didn't care, I wasn't in a rush for him to pay me back, but he was like oh blah blah blah, and I guess I just knuckled under and was like alright fine. I deposited it that day as a favor to him. I didn't really doubt the check was fake, because he didn't seem to be trying to pull off some check scam, because I knew he wanted to deposit it himself but apparently wanted it immediately (turns out that crackheads want money for crack immediately so they can blow all of it on crack, then go out and get more money). Anyway, I called Mary and moom that night, because I wanted to ask moom if transmissions even have filters, which Robert said was part of the problem with the transmission. She said it was possible, but then all the information about the check came out and she said it was a scam. I don't know if it is or was, but since the check is apparently cleared, I worried about it for nothing, but I was worried enough to go right to the bank the next morning. The bank told me to call customer service, which I did, and they said to wait until Monday to see if the check clears, and if it's a fake it'll just be sent back (sounds like kind of a lax policy). Last night, I swore off doing any more shit for him, I just wanted him to finish up the car. He was just going to do the last stuff with the car, and he wanted me to start it up and see if it was running fine, or how much quieter it was, to see if the muffler and shit was totally sealed. He said it wasn't and he'd have to put some more of the muffler sealant on, which we still had some, so no he didn't want more money to buy more. I went with him every time he wanted to buy car stuff, and he told me what he needed to fix up the car, and it was indeed pretty cheap, like the filter was $5, and the sealant was only $3. Anyway, he said that he'll put some more on later but since the car is running could I drive him just up Merriman to pick up his other (fatty) girlfriend, as opposed to the skinny one who was arrested the night earlier, and I was like alright, and apparently it would help the sealant dry better because it was so cold that it was hardening but not properly drying blah blah, and I might as well just do this one thing since he actually is working on the car, which he was. Anyway, we start going, and suddenly I'm crossing Inkster road, and Michigan Ave, and fuckin Ecourse, and we're like 3 cities away, and I'm like okay this is not even up Merriman, we didn't even go on Merriman. I didn't say that though. He did want to borrow my phone to call her, and at this point the phone gave me a notice that it needed to be paid for the month, and I had no money left to pay him because I let him borrow all of my money, which is really dumb and I should have never done anyway even if he really was going to pay me back, so that's awful. Anyway, I told him that I had the phone but I can't use it to call (something about how it would be 17 cents a minute until I topped up again), and isn't she going to be there anyway? So why need to call. He was like DURR ALRIGHT. So we keep going, and when we get to her street, he suddenly doesn't know her address, and NEEDS to call to find out exactly which house is hers. She was quite a fatty, and pretty skanky also. The bitch asks me if I'm driving her home in the morning, and I said no. In fact, long story short on that, she walked away from his apartment just a couple hours ago (from right now I mean), apparently with no ride anywhere, many miles from her house. Anyway, Friday night I kept checking my bank account and it didn't go in, but then Saturday morning (TODAY) the money actually showed up in the account. So I go to the guy's apartment, it's only like 3 doors away, and I knock, but he doesn't answer. I was already spreading the story with Mary and moom, so I went to Mary's to ask her about it, but her boyfriend Mikey (who is an okay guy really) was there, and we talked about it. Mikey has a friend in the Westland police who's a pretty good cop, and Mikey asked him if he knows anything about Robert Cavill, and the cop guy says that he robbed someone just last night, apparently some lady who he beat the shit out of and put in the hospital. That means that after I got back with him and his fatty girlfriend, he apparently went right out and robbed someone. It might've been her idea for all we know. So, Mikey mentions the guy might still be around, so the officer patrolled our street back and forth. Jso stayed in the apartment while I stayed at Mary's house, where we had a good spot to see if the guy showed up. Sure enough like a half hour later Mary saw him coming out of his apartment, which means he might've been there the whole time even after I banged on his door to tell him that his check cleared on a Saturday even. Instead we called the cops, and I was already thinking of the LCD flat screen big screen HDTV I was going to buy with this money after we move into our own cozy two bedroom house in Garden City. So, for now we're going to sit on the $2,500, and I'm not giving it back to him, fuck that guy, and I'm not afraid of him either, I don't give a shit (it would help if we had a gun of course, but the gun shop isn't open until Monday, plus waiting periods and etc, but the phone will still dial 911 anyway). So, we should give it at least a couple of weeks before starting to blow through the money, just to make sure it isn't recalled or some shit. I plan on giving a few hundred to Mary and Mikey already, so it's like a bunch of it is already spent, is that really responsible of me I dunno only god can judge us. Anyway moom had come over and we were at Mary's and she was giving us all this about how we should pay him back, and we were like how are we going to do that if he's going to jail for a couple years (on top of the robbery, his OTIS page LIKE OTIS FROM THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW says he skipped out on parole. It's not like we ratted him out on that to keep the money, or made him steal from people all of a day later even the day that his check cleared, so fuck it, I'm not giving him the money. I don't even know if that money is going to stay there, but if it does, it's all ours. I could've been drawing or playing Stalker Clear Sky instead of typing all this shit out. :(
