Re: Actually perhaps they ARE very different movies.

Right, no dialogue about shields in Khan. Oh, except that guy hitting the console with his fist and crying (literally crying) "I <i>CAN'T!!!</i>". Where's the override, the override. Oh god the override.
So that's like what, 2 lines? To the 20 in Nemesis. And I thought I was bad at math. Also in both movies they hide in a nebula for the fight. Spock transfers his whatever to McCoy before sacrificing himself, and Data transfers his memory information to B4 before sacrificing himself. Except of course if Data could just be replaced with older versions of him that have the same memories, then there was absolutely nothing unique about Data and could probably be remade a million times over, so they really just retroactively ruined the character instead of pretending he could be "revived" in any way. Is it sinking in yet? Have you a singular wit?
"Do we have power for phasers?" "A few short sir!" "Not enough against their shields." "Sulu, get those shields up!" "Trying sir." "We daren't follow them into the nebula. Our shields would be useless." "Our shields are collapsing, captain!" "Problem with the nebula sir, is all of that discharging gas clouds tactical and shields will be inoperative." -- I forget how she worded that one exactly. Also, three or four closeups of the control panel showing shields going up or going down. But yes, I'm aware that Data and Spock are essentially the same guy in the two different series.
