Oh one more post please

I was just about to explain to someone why noticing a gay haircut and not playing a game because of it is pretty gay in itself. This shit is below even me.
Since it's going to be weeks before my latest registry attempt makes it past the Qt3 Inquisition, if at all, could someone post this in a reply?

I think on this board, where the average age isn't 14, you're going to find a preponderance of folks who didn't like the Devils May Cry. I played through 3 and bits of 2, and I can see their appeal. But they're the sorts of games aimed at people who are happy to burn time beating their heads against long fights with only a minimal return. cf. Ninja Gaiden, which is the same thing minus Dante's teen-appeal pretensions.
That quote is almost the same as this quote from Roger Ebert's review panning "Army of Darkness."
The movie isn't as funny or entertaining as "Evil Dead II," however, maybe because the comic approach seems recycled. Then again, the movie seems aimed at an audience of 14-year olds, who would have been 8 when "Evil Dead II" came out, so maybe this will all seem breathtakingly original.
It's an apt comparison because I consider DMC3 to be the "army of darkness" of video games. A game that eschews high handed literaryness in favor of nonstop asskicking. For example, when it's time for the female love interest's inevitable tearful monolouge about her dark past, it's accompanied by a kickass gunkata duel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8YUWC-tWNY Turning your nose up at that is like complaining that the Max Payne games are too cliche or that Ash never seems to reload his shotgun. And let me take a moment to address the "gay" issue that has everyone in a tizzy. DMC3 is a prequel and if Dante was walking around with an afro and bell bottoms everyone would have gotten the joke. But here Dante shows up wearing pretty much the exact outfit Eddie Murphy had on while telling gay-baiting jokes in his standup act "Raw" and everyone goes bezerk; almost like they're too young to remember the 80s. You say the game is too immature for anyone over 14, I say the game is too clever for the 14-year-olds rejecting it. Like Dawn of War, God of War is a gorgeous game and a blast to play, but in terms of pure gameplay DMC3 wins out. Playing and mastering the game goes through stages as you uncover the game's depth. From desperately dodging and pecking bosses to death to getting the hang of things and shotgun blasting them in the face a point blank, to the point where survival is a secondary concern and the important thing is looking good and driving up the style meter as you play, like an ultraviolent Tony Hawk game. Unfortunately, people aren't willing to take the time to learn the excellent combat system of DMC3 and instead run for the eye-candy of GOW or Ninja Gaiden. I'd call DMC3 the Kohan of action games except that title belongs to the incredibly awesome but critically reviled God Hand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyfbtSyX3mc
