Also, they only mention Half-Life 2 out of an occasionally remembered courtesy to their readers, knowing their readers don't spend all day playing Fru Fru Fairy Tales for Kids: The Game, and are instead waiting for the best game in game history. The fact that they pegged Guilty Gear Gold King of XL Beast Fighter 4000 v 2.322b as the best game of the year in February (for it's amazing innovation of adding a "scratch head" button never before seen in a fighting game!) that would just make them more silent in embarrassment after it turns out the appeal of those zany console novelty games is less than a week, and certain PC first person shooters are going to force every game conceived of after it to live up to its ridiculously high standards.
