Re: Pat Summerall, senior day, and a question

The Question directed towards Trent Green: what the hell was that? I could have started Kurt Warner and gotten more points.
Green looked about as lost and comical out there when he got flushed from the pocket as Dirk the Daring did while trying to hop to the next tile and avoid dragon breath. "OOF!! UNF!!!" -- Trent Green There's not many times where you can really point to one case of free agency and say that it cost a team a game, but if John Tait was back there rather than the Chief-colored pylon they placed at right tackle, they would have won that game. It was that close. Whenever Green left the safe confines of his offensive wall good things started to happen for Denver. I'm going to guess that Mrs. Shanahan got fucked pretty hard last night, too, all the while (after Champ Bailey's performance -- I've never seen a pickup make a more dramatic difference in his very first game) saying things like, "I'll tell you what a shut down corner is worth, bitch!" Or maybe they picked cheese from mouse traps together. Whatever it is they do in the comfort of their home is really none of my business. I bash Shanahan enough when things blow up in his face, but I'll give him credit for a good trade. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey!
You crazy motherfucker, the game wasn't that close. John Tait wouldn't have kept our DBs from swatting down Trent's passes left and right, and he wouldn't have done much to improve Priest Holme's already excellent performance. Neither would he have caused Eddie "Midseason Retirement" Kennison to run a 9 yard out instead of an 8 yard out on 3rd and 9, or prevent him from dropping a couple passes when he was open.
