Re: No, me!! I'm teh gay!!

First off - Quest For the Rings is the name of the Odyssey game. Know how I know? As you describe it, you're looking (or "questing") for rings (or "rings"). But at least you got "AND" wrong, fag.
Will you marry me? CHECK THE LAWS FIRST.
Yes, if you build the Batcave AND the pool.
And, uh, thanks, or something. Anyway, while you're fact-checking, WTF was the name of the fourth character, and what could the changeling do?

The four heroes are the "Warrior," who can dispatch enemies with a magical sword; the "Wizard," who can stun foes with magical spells; the "Phantom," a ghostly character who can walk through walls; and the "Changeling," an elf who can turn invisible by donning a magical cloak.

M.A.C.H. III - Laser disc fighter/bomber pilot game. I thought this was the greatest goddamned thing ever invented by anyone. Also, the first $1.00 arcade game, it sucked up my allowance and lawn-mowing money (converted into tokens) faster than Michael Cimino with a movie camera and two giant nostrils. Result: I bought a full sit-down cabinet version of the game a few years ago and installed it in my apartment. It took up an entire wall of my living room, and when I plugged it in, it shorted out the power in the entire building. Winner: The guy on eBay who told me it was working. Loser: lots of perishable groceries, one splintered M.A.C.H. III cabinet when I accidentally demolished it trying to get it the hell out of my apartment, minus the two illegal Mexican day-laborers I'd originally hired to help get it in. Luckily, the neighbor had a crowbar.
That game RAWKED! I loved it. I'm hoping my friend, who's working on a MAME rig, can somehow put that in. I doubt it.
Trust me: he won't. Okay, maybe he will, who knows? I do think it would be possible to do really cool (or relatively cool) laserdisc-style games with today's DVD-based consoles. I owned a Sega CD for about a week before returning it, but during that week I really enjoyed the port of Cobra Command they'd done.

M.A.C.H. 2.5 - My first attempt to make a game that wasn't copied verbatim from a Bill Budge article. My friends and I had some sort of sprite animation program and made little sprites the approximated the shape and size of the MACH III sprite plane. Still on the to-do list to this day: how to get the sprites to correspond to joystick input, laser-disc interface, targeting system, bullet, missle, bomb, and explosion sprites. Expected release date: Spring 2003.
OOOH I CAN'T WAIT. Actually, it sounds fun, but you're no longer allowed to make fun of SB for detailing site mechanics.
You're thinking of Fussbette. I only make fun of SB for the brainbox stuff. Anyway, please note the M.A.C.H. 2.5 project was begun around the fall of '85, and was abandoned, oh.... I'd say it was right around the fall of '85. Plus it was for Apple ][e. Or ][+. Or something.
Who the fuck is Gale Anne Hurd?
She used to be married to James Cameron and produced a lot of his movies. I think she still produces other movies, now. I only knew it was her because she used a credit card. I also waited on Gene Simmons. Twice. In two different restaurants. IN TWO DIFFERENT STATES. I don't think he remembered me.
This is why I secretely feel bad for game designers. "I made a bubble! And a fish!" Moderately intelligent people yelling things like a four-year-old or a retard.
I'm no designer. Besides, everyone has to start somewhere, but you're right - I was pretty fucking thrilled to not be transferring files from one server to the other all day, and to actually be in production.

To be continued...
You sure you don't want to do an article?
And open myself up to all sorts of ridicule?????????
