Forum Overview :: Gamerasutra :: Yes! One of the fun things I learned in doing this. Or relearned.

If I recall correctly, AT had the large ancient keyboard connector and ATX used ps2 connectors. So basically, an AT and ATX case have different punchouts at the back for different connector configurations. Of course we could google that but what's the point of being old if you can't be all IN MY DAY ATX HNNNNGG *clutches at heart and dies*
Dude, I will admit I did not even remember the larger DIN connector for keyboards, haha. Some background: a guy in Longmont made a modern ISA sound card that works as a Gravis Ultrasound and such. I did not have a motherboard with an ISA slot, so I bought one from eBay. That kicked all of this off. I have a single PS/2 keyboard around for when I need it, and I was mildly surprised to see the larger connector on the motherboard (an AT one). I would bet I had an adapter once... it seemed cheaper to just get an adapter. Just one of those things where there is no point in throwing such an adapter away, but I never thought I'd want to go back to the Pentium lands again!
