You made the shot and the RNG either said "fuck you" or it didn't. Puzzle Quest turned its RNG into a Match-3 and gave players a satisfying semblance of control with their skill at gem manipulation. Ironcast does both and it's infuriating. You can have the most brilliant multi-gem arrangement filling your ammo magazine, but only hit 1 for 3 because the invisible RNG said you still miss. It's maddening! Meanwhile we have games like Invisible Inc, Spelunky, and Crypt of the Necrodancer where the arrangement of the level is random, but every success and failure is completely up to the player's skill, and I never get tired of them. Such a pity because I love the concept of Ironcast so much.[/quote]
