Or, if you weren't married and want to speak about what you saw in your own (presumably) married parents, that's fine; but mention that's what you're referring to. I'd like "real-life" answers rather than flights of fancy, if anyone cares to do so. So, here's the question, why do people make the jump, take the plunge, cross the chasm, take their relationship to the next level, "make an honest woman" out of their girlfriend, why do (or more specifically, why did you) get married?
