VENTING
Here's what I like about the vents: there's nobody in there but me, Adam Jensen. (*I* am Adam Jensen.) The guys who made Fallout 3 would have those vents CRAMMED FULL of dogs, cats, mice and rats, flies that won't die and little gnats. Oh, and zombies. Now, it's not DE:HR's problem that I played a lot of Fallout 3, but they chose to be the bigger man and leave the vents empty. I appreciate that. Actually, here is some shit I appreciate in DE:HR that I only notice because other games pulled shit: 1) No monster closets, no stupid monster spawning (Doom III) 2) No fake bodies on the floor that RAAARGH jump up when I get close (BioShock) 3) It's possible to walk down a street in DE:HR and not have some enemy see you and then make a straight bee-line for you. (Fallout 3) 4) The stakes are high enough where, even though I am an augmented ideal of humanity, I can't really take out 4 guys at the same time. (Every game ever) 5) You can have conversations with people without them wigging out and going insane (Steve Smith in Madden 2012) So I appreciate DE:HR for having some restraint. I always considered BioShock to be the best HD-era game, but DE:HR is probably going to leapfrog it in my opinion. ICJ
