summer sale games review, up to the 6th
sale game availability review: 10/10 the games on sale are a mix between ultra cheap indie crap games and extremely low prices on otherwise AAA titles sale prices review: 9.8/10 I bought a metric fuckton of games that I either wanted but couldn't justify the price of $15 each, or were so incredibly cheap I bought them just to have a new game that cost a dollar gratuitous space battles: 3/10 normally I love the concept of tower defense games, but this one is extremely meh. not for lack of content tho, the game has a zillion game modes plus a ship customizer (you can equip hardpoints with your personal selection of weapons and items, but that's all you can do) but the total feel of the gameplay itself is just very lacking. you don't really defend paths or hardpoints, you just gather a cluster of ships, mash them together, and wait for them to fly towards the enemy fleet and kill it. the fast forward feature is broken, causing the game to actually chug slower on my crysis 2 rig, so that is totally fucked, I have no issues with any other tower defense game's fast forward, so it's just fucked up in this one. harvest massive encounter: 5/10 it seems the gold standard of all tower defense games, defense grid the awakening (7/10), just manages to make even the average tower d game look worse. with no ultimate objective like say a campaign story mode or sequence of maps, harvest just amounts to spamming the two weapon towers available and waiting to die, which is very disappointing. you would think the game would have added depth with the ability to link laser towers while perfectly positioning your missile silos, but all that will happen is that you will eventually get overrun while trying to expand past the center point you are stuck at forever. there's a few other game modes but really, if normal mode just amounts to "survive forever" then what's the point of doing just ten waves when you can already do 40?
