Sorry but it's objectively how the game is played.

If you're attacking both sides, you're not doing a combo. I'm sorry to have to bring logic into this but there it is. I remember I was chopping some guys up, and some other dudes were coming up behind me, so I hit back on the stick to face them and fire my shotgun, and it doesn't even turn Dante around, it just fires into the guy in front of me. This is where I have to start reducing skill to work down to the game's level. I'm already stringing SS combos together and mixing up attacks and weapons instantaneously, but there's a bottleneck where I react faster than the game will allow, which is what makes the game hard but not challenging (the opposite of this would be something like Call of Duty 4 on veteran). The controls wouldn't even be a problem if you didn't take that much damage on normal difficulty (or if you could block all the time like Ninja Gaiden, but that game was boring anyway and DMC3 is still already way more fun). If you take a lot of damage in a game, it should give you every opportunity to avoid the damage or counter it or stuff like that. It's a problem but not a deal breaker. Like Jso said, some people think that when you say anything negative about an old oudated game that people inexplicably loved beyond reason, it means you hate it or you are insulting them or trolling (remember people thought Duke Nukem 3D was such an eternal classic, haw haw). They instantly are incapable of understanding logic or reason, which history shows we have the monopoly on. Once you criticize anime, such as Akira or Ghost in the Shell, to an anime fan, they shut down and become incapable of assessing information, so no matter what you tell them about it, they won't accept it, even if you say you like it, and no amount of logic or reason will work, as many many years of experience have taught us, so we know better than just about anyone else about this kind of thing. The fact is, most people who play games, especially games like this, confuse rote memorization for skill, which is how you have to get through the boss fights and most of the situational fights (guys who shoot arrows and etc), not using mixing attacks to build a combo meter on bosses (which is more suited to the swarms), but simply covering as much of the area with swings as you can, or for bosses just dying over and over until you remember which attacks to stay away from. A lot of people simply memorize a game's layout through trial and error, and assume it means skill. Skill might come into the game later, I don't know, I'm just going from what I found in the first half of the game. So if I play more and find that the game becomes really different then I will post about that (I'll probably just say "I played more and the game is really different now the end").[/quote]
