more counter-intuitiveness

1. The shitty movies are usually Godzilla. I forgot all the rest of the movies, there seemed to be a whole lot that she forced me to hold the triangle button to skip over. WHATEVER
They were all shitty 50's movies about monsters and/or THE HORROR of nuclear war from a country that was trying to develope viruses (tested on POW's and civilains) to kill the rest of the world before they were nuked. She mentions a Clint Eastwood flick though (Fistful of Dollars).
2. I didn't get why snake used the knife for interrogating instead of just holding the gun to their heads. Cutting throats is fun tho.
I'm guessing having a giant knife slightly digging into the surface of your throat would be psychologically more intimidating than a gun to the head. Hey, sometimes a knife is more useful than a gun! It fucking took me forever to figure out how to interrogate people, because everytime I grabbed them Snake would just slit their throat. Turns out it was because you have to lightly hold down circle to hold them, which is counter-intuitive because letting go of circle means letting go of the guard and having him raise the alarm. So of course every logical gamer on the planet is going to jam that fucking circle button down hard so that they don't slip and let the guard escape. The whole alert system is also unintuitive. The instant an enemy spots you the alert timer flashes on, but there won't be any actual reinforcements until the guards radio for them, even though from the past 2 games you assume more guards start pouring in the instant the alert comes on and that taking out the current guards won't stop it. MGS2 handled this much better. Guads that saw you would react and shoot you, but the actual alert wouldn't come on until they radioed in. The game is easier now that I know this, but dealing with all the guards still takes longer than it would to just reset and reload, and it's still frustrating to be spotted by some enemy you couldn't see because of the camera system.
3. What female lead is in this game? Certainly not Eva, and Boss doesn't get that sort of treatment (because she's so old she isn't as hot).
Eva's the closest thing to a female lead in the game, and passes the dead or alive girls for most blatant fan service wank material, THAT WHORE. Dig the part where the russian grabs her tit and start electricuting her through it so much that holes start melting in her pantyhose.
4. You totally forgot to say the bosses name again AFTER they explode. That stuck in my mind more than perhaps anything else in the whole fucking game. They don't yell it either, they just say it again. I suppose that old 60's tech prevented them from screaming it again after they had been blown into soup (!?), or else perhaps the American voice actors had more taste/class/talent than the senslessly screaming japanese voice actors. I still don't get what the fuck is up with that, but it still happens. By the way, these cobra unit bosses were all responsible for winning WW2, remember?
Sorry Grandpa, but the Nazis were defeated by BEES. You are wrong though. Everyone should try to listen to the original Japanese voices ^_^ This game is such a shame. They had a good start to the series then threw it all away. The only strength of it now is the amazing amount of little details they jam into the games (instead of actually fixing the broken and flawed main game). Metal Gear is now the Neon Genesis Evangelion of videogames, created by some self-loathing egotist that secretly wants everyone to hate him too. A product that has a core concept that the fans want (super spy, giant robots) but that concept is buried under mounds of philosophical and psychological nonsense. I don't like this emerging trend of out of control Japanese game makers that think the player has to prove himself worthy by slogging through tons of annoying shit to get to the good stuff. First Metal Gear, then Ninja Gaiden. What's next?
