TOP QUOTING INVOLVED you've all been warned
There's a subtle but important difference between knowing the simliarities between Vulcans and Romulans and knowing spocks moms name. There's not much nerdy behaviour that i raise my eyebrow at (STAR TREK REFERENCE) but you went too far. I think BRUCE BANNER whoever went out of his way to let everyone know "fuk Romulus I just want revenge" so hogging all that precious mining technology isn't suprising. And again (AGAIN) if he risked going to Earth he would've maybe missed spock, I don't know if they have huge mining shuttlecraft on that thing. I can play too (and probably better than you!) so let me try a couple on: - Why don't the miners have the same haircut every other Vulcan/Romulan (except Tuvac?) in the universe have? I figured it was what future space Romulans looked like but it's revealed they're from only just past Next Generation time, and they still had Spock hair and gay square shouldered armor then. Maybe space mining is boring and they have shit else to do but make head tattoos? I didn't see any lady romulans on board so this is a great guess. These are nerd answers, the real one is that a fucking Star Trek Romulan is visually unacceptable to any non virgin and was the first change made. - Was the opening vessel's shuttlecraft called the U.S.S Idaho? (This is explained away by old Spock later on but i thought it was terribly clever - I think maybe ONE phaser rakes the opening ship coming from the Romulans, asides from that there are no star trek wide beam phaser things just the byew byew ones :( And what was that clicking from blue to red hand phaser shit? - NO STAIRS! Who designed that thing? Was jumping deck to deck that much of a time saver? That ship was huge! - Gay new aliens i don't care about. Extra exagerated features black guy alien in the bar between kirk and Uherara, kind of huge eyes girl, others with slight human changes so minute I didn't notice? Awful. Throw in a Gorn fuckers! Nerd rage...subsiding. Any other arguments you need help winning just let me know!
Ahhhh, I'm just kidding! You're a good guy and you can destroy me in a battle of words. Since you responded, though... a.) Nero's ship is fucking incredible compared to the entire fleet of the Federation. I bet the Romulans would like to have their hands on it no matter whether it was a mining ship or not. b.) Nero waited 25+ YEARS for Spock to show up with the red matter, but I'm saying why bother considering how easily he could have fucked up 130-years-past Earth and Vulcan with only the mining laser. It was a fun movie, though! I liked how each (major) crewmember got their own memorable scene. I also liked the diversity of the crew (did you catch that 50 year old working communications? Nice!) and Kirk's swagger. He was outnumbered in the bar fight and goaded the guy relentlessly and then got his shit pushed in! That was great. I can't wait for the sequel.
