| Pros: The amount of detail was amazing! The Nostalgia/Millenium ads, the two Bernies, the topknots, the pipes. Any changes Snyder made were improvements, and the stuff he left alone was also an improvement. Forum nerds complained about the actress that plays Laurie but I thought she was fine - just not as accurate as Rorschach, Comedian, Dr Manhattan, and Dan. It was fucking great and I hope it makes a ton of money.
Minor drawbacks: I thought the violence was too gory. Also, Ozymandius was too cold at the beginning - in the comic he is beloved and affable, cracking coke jokes with reporters and doing charity shows. But who gives a fuck? Time has not been kind to the story so the movie only works as a valentine for giant fucking nerds who read the comic as teenagers, and as one of those guys I feel like a cunt suggesting that 99.9% satisfaction is not enough. |
