A 63-year-old attorney based in Lafayette, La., who asked not to be named, told ABCNews.com that she plans to cut back on her business to get her annual income under the quarter million mark should the Obama tax plan be passed by Congress and become law.

So far, Obama's tax plan is being looked at skeptically by both Democrats and Republicans and therefore may not pass at all.

"We are going to try to figure out how to make our income $249,999.00," she said.

"We have to find a way out where we can make just what we need to just under the line so we can benefit from Obama's tax plan," she added. "Why kill yourself working if you're going to give it all away to people who aren't working as hard?"

Dr. Sharon Poczatek, who runs her own dental practice in Boulder, Colo., said that she too is trying to figure out ways to get out of paying the taxes proposed in Obama's plan.

"I've put thought into how to get under $250,000," said Poczatek. "It would mean working fewer days which means having fewer employees, seeing fewer patients and taking time off."

"Generally it means being less productive," she said.

"The motivation for a lot of people like me – dentists, entrepreneurs, lawyers – is that the more you work the more money you make," said Poczatek. "But if I'm going to be working just to give it back to the government -- it's de-motivating and demoralizing."

But Colorado dentist Poczatek says those who support the increase in taxes misunderstand what it means for those who will end up paying more.

"I'd like these people to know that we pay a lot of taxes, and have been paying a lot of taxes through the past administration," said Pcozatek.

"We make a lot of money, it's true, but we also already pay a lot of taxes," she said.

"So maybe we got a little bit successful but we worked very hard," she said. "It's taken us over 30 years and it didn't happen overnight. Every day is a lot of work.

"We're working for it and we're still overtaxed."

:( 1/9/07 2 1 2 This office was terrible to me and I don't recommend them to anyone. Not only were they very late and unprofessional, but Dr. Poczatek didn't tell me what she was doing as she filed my tooth down so much that I needed to get a whole new tooth instead of just a cap. I went to another dentist who immediately confirmed my fears. She cost me over $700 in repairs and was terribly rude when I tried to speak with her about her mistakes.

:( 7/25/06 1 1 1 The dentist drilled out old silver fillings to replace with new ones. She drilled out the holes then left and had the hygenist do the rest. They did a horrible job. I had to go to another dentist and have them re-done because they cracked within 6 months. The hygenists are very unprofessional and talked about very inappropriate things in front of me and were so distracted that I got sprayed in the face a few times and gagged with instruments while they talked.

:( 12/20/05 1 1 2 My first appointment was just to take x-rays and talk to the Dr. No cleanings are done on first appointment. If I remember correctly, they took 16 x-rays because they were taking both horizonal and vertical pictures of the teeth (rather than taking normal x-rays and a panoramic view). I had film gouging everything in my mouth. When they were done I got to schedule another visit for the cleaning. (The hyginist was great, however she was a temp.) On my 3rd visit, I had 3 cavities filled. The cost for 7 was supposed to run about $350, however the cost for 3 was $270. The Dr. took a look, drilled out the cavities and left! A Hygenist actually filled my teeth. When she was finished, the Dr. came back, checked the work and declared everything fine. After I went home, I found out that they had pushed the filling material so hard it cracked, which made it so I couldn't floss between 2 teeth. I'm still trying to get it fixed.

Kids in Boulder have it too good. They are spoiled.
They would never make it in the real tough world of, say, Chicago or L.A. You just don't mess with cops if you know what is good for you. This is abominable criminal activity far removed from pranks or protests. My kids received tickets for riding bikes in Boulder when they were teenagers.
They complained but did not take out revenge or retaliate in such a vindictive and destructive way.
I feel for there parents. These kids are out of control and need to be punished.
