| Called into the boardroom at 11am. At 11:10 I was on the street. My boss said because of some securities law I had to be escorted off the premises, but I'm sure he was just paranoid I'd fuck some shit up and steal. I didn't even have time to clear my browser history so whoever goes through my computer will see all the bullshit websites I visit [FUCK YOU IF YOU'RE READING THIS, YOU FUCKING CUNT!!!]
I wasn't sad until two hours later when I called my parents. Before then though, I was walking through the city to cash my cheque and a lady who was collecting for epilepsy was doing her rounds at the lights. When she got to me, I thought I'd make a scene so I said said, "No sorry, I've been made redundant." loud enough for, like, maybe five people around me to hear. She walked on to the next guy without even acknowledging this! She probably tuned out at the "No, sorry." The guy to my right moved his head slightly so he could see me better out of the corner of his eye. No one else gave a shit!" It's weird I don't care more. I haven't cried properly. I stopped myself crying on the phone to my parents and was just silent. About two weeks ago, I was feeling weird and I cried watching the youtube of Lily Allen's music video for "The Fear". Hahaha! So it's not like I have a high tears threshold. I don't like my job, or Australia, or Australians, so that probably softened the blow. I'll probably move to Taiwan to be with a girl I've known for three weeks. I'll be a 27 y/o English teacher just like every other loser I detested when I was younger and swore I'd never become. I'm still surprised I'm not a huge success of some sort. I don't know when you're supposed to get over that expectation. If something special doesn't happen to me in the next five years, I'll do terrible things to keep myself amused and punish the world for not being kinder and fairer, or I'll just play a long and be a piece of shit and make excuses. Not sure yet. |
