For the most part, it feels like aiming, although you tend to get used to a lazier shoot-from-the-lap option. It's got its quirks depending on your setup and how the wii sensors are set up. For the height of my tv, standing up tends to be much more problematic than sitting, for example, as Samba De Amigo put on display in a catastrophic manner. I've also played with other setups where the customary arrangement is unacceptable in terms of the precision variations it causes. I have noticed that subtle jerks up tend to trigger the reload animation when it's not wanted, so I've invested in accelerating that aspect of my guns and now it's hardly noticeable.
The biggest issue the length of trigger pull on most guns, and the fact that the Wii Zapper needs to be cut in half (which I may actually try) to remove all of the cumbersome garbage tacked on for lesser games and still take advantage of its very light trigger pull.
All of the above is the product of months of regularly busting out HotD 2/3 with friends, so you should probably take it with a grain of salt if you are not willing to allow a period of adjustment. I remember it bugging me at first, but I'm not sure in the end if calibration has gotten THAT much better or I've gotten used to it. |

Is it point/shoot, or is that just totally impossible on the wii? NT by Worm 02/14/2009, 8:48am PST
