| Upon re-reading FOTR it appears that, indeed, a mounted Uruk-Hai does pursue the Fellowship, and Legolas shoots at it. So, I guess it's not really a surprise per se, merely a reach to find something active to do at the end (because killing a bunch of orcs while running up the hill twice wasn't enough). | ||||
