Until you reach those heady heights, I should stress that I'm not anti-rape so much as anti-resolution rape. I can't stop the ogre rape! I can't participate in the ogre rape! Most importantly, the game goes to silly, painful lengths to expose you to ogre rape and then make everyone disbelieve you about it. Not as a game bug, but as a game design. You can win the game without doing the ogre rape side quest, but I bumbled on it by accident, expecting another Fantasy Fed Ex mission. You can't win the ogre rape side quest. There is no victory outcome. Nothing ever happens with it outside of you having some gnomes steal the evidence, apparently it's not enough to just clue in the authorities that there's a special Ogre Rape Island.
It's kind of like if you were playing Half-Life, right, and there's a side quest, almost like an easter egg since you can walk right past it without affecting your game in any way, where you as Gordon look in the mirror and say (incongruously) "Whoever would have thought that I'd have come this far after raping 15 children and getting away with it?" Then he leafs through a photo diary of the children he'd raped, in their post-rape splayed positions, holding little signs in their bruised, dejected hands saying "I Love Gordon Freeman." Then you carry that diary for the rest of the game, it pops up as a "weapon" if you cycle through your guns but it doesn't do anything, it just reminds you that you did that side-quest.
