I'm a member of several private torrent sites. I have to bust my ass to keep a good ratio, but I manage by seeding like 50 things at a time and never shutting down uTorrent... EVER. uTorrent has such a low profile this isn't really a problem, even if I'm doing other things. But one thing that ticks me off is, every so often the staff of the site comes up with some ridiculous scheme to increase the difficulty of breaking even. If its some type of point reward system, various user classes you get promoted to or demoted from every month, time requirements for torrents, or whatever the hell they come up with, each system is usually worse than the last one. However, as soon as each new system is announced, even if you have to break out a fucking diagram to understand it, sycophants come out of the woodwork saying "I like it! It's so much simpler than the previous system!" Literally post after post. Do these mods actually think that posters who could get banned in an instant for anything are actually in love with every little change the staff makes? I'm just glad I can post shit to a place like Caltrops and get berated instead of banned. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my precious Blackcats account! |
