| I used to think How I Met Your Mother was a good show. I thought, as gay as the writers and fans might try and make it, at least Doogie Howser would always be there to keep things honest with his unapolagetic masculinity and astronaut-strength thirst for tang. Then one day I read an article that said Doogie Howser was a closet homosexual, that basically his entire career since Harold & Kumar has been one long joke at the expense of straight guys like Macho Man Randy Savage and Macho Man You the Reader and especially Million-Dollar Macho Man Me. I can't tell you how betrayed I felt. It would be like if the guy who played Jack on Will & Grace suddenly came out to the world as straight. Overnight his mincing faggot routine would go from playfully self-effacing to a brutal sexual assault on all gay people everywhere. They might as well change the name from "Will & Grace" to "Amos & Andy" because that's how offensive it would be. Then they might as well change the name to "Gary Unmarried" because that's how much patience America would have for it. | ||||
