In point form:
No enemies falling from the top of the screen.
Bizarrely shaped playing field means that the VAUS takes up 25% of the screen.
No lives. If you miss the ball it bounces off a barrier at the bottom of the screen. If you miss the ball and the barrier is gone, game over.
The megaball power-up doesn't destroy the golden bricks, which I think it did in Arkanoid 2.
Many of the best power-ups are gone: the most balls on screen is now 3, and one of them is the REAL ball which will damage the barrier if you miss it. The others don't matter.
The laser needs to be delicately aimed or you can't hit anything. The shots emerge on either end of the VAUS meaning you cannot hit the block directly above you.
North American version does not come with awesome spinner attachment.
In conclusion, were I to buy any budget-priced, throw-back ds game, I should have gotten Space Invaders Extreme, apparently. |
