Although I got through a really bizarre bullshit area that required me to eat a bunch of the few health kits I had while I got sprayed with gunfire and almost bled out like 10 times. This is after replaying this same area where you're stuck between a zone entrance and a military base with a fuckin machine gun that sprays at you almost non stop unless you just camp behind a rock, but if you move out of it they spray you constantly. They only way to get through it is to just try running past hammering the bandage and health kit keys apparently, and this is near the beginning of the game when you'll only have a few health kits and bandages. When I got past it and got to the friendly camp just beyond there, I prepared myself and snuck into the military camp and fuckin murdered like all 20 people there, spending like 2 hours doing that shit, getting their assault rifles and shit, making a nice chunk of change while upgrading my current weapon loadout. When I went back to pick up the guns I had to leave on the ground, there were like 20 military guys there again, so fuck that shit for now.

As for the gameplay upgrades, there's a gunsmith (cat? :3) dude in the beginning camp that will freely upgrade any weapon or armor you bring him, AND he'll repair it. It just costs money, which you can get sort of easily by picking up all the dropped guns and talking to a guide who will teleport you back to the camp. At least that's while you're in the swamp. After you leave the swamp, the guides start charging you money to teleport, and it's already a ton of money, so I'm better off saving the money just walking there manually like I did in STALKER 1.

The upgrading weapons shit is awesome, because you can take the dinky piece of shit pistol you start off with and slap a couple nice upgrades in there, like extended magazines, better accuracy and less recoil, and for the shitty early weapons they're pretty cheap.
