The first is fun and engaging enough to make you forget its problems. by Worm 12/19/2008, 6:32pm PST
Basically it's an open world game with awful combat and lots of quick-save quick-load bullshit. The story is pretty good and compelling despite being voiced by four guys. If anything is going to keep you going it's the story, so if the idea of being trapped in a big bubble with three gangs of philosophically differing criminals and a bunch of monsters, then you'll love the game.

I played it over a summer when my computer was destroyed(didn't ground myself during my final presentation in Speech class) on an old Compaq, so I really didn't have much choice. Interestingly that was the only time I could bring myself to play Devil Whiskey too. The sequels are just massively disappointing, the second one has no charm and all the problems. Then the third brings a new engine to a even more boring game, complete with a FULL CRAFTING ENGINE. You're just going to feel like an awful person if you even try the sequels, try the first and pretend that's the end of it, please.
