100% of all FPS players are emotionally unstable. by Worm 12/14/2008, 11:10am PST
Everyone goes into these games looking to let loose, and when you try to start doing it through chat rather than by killing other people's dudes you'll probably completely lose it.

Awhile ago some guy was making these dumb bonk jokes after he'd get a kill. I pointed out that if he didn't stop to type it out every time he'd be doing a lot better, and I swear to god he immediately lost his shit started cursing me out over voice chat, switched teams, went sniper, and specifically would only go after me. I wasn't even rude about it or anything, he just went into this big rant about how the game is for fun, and he was just having fun and that's what the developers intended so GET OFF MY CASE(all that is near verbatim except for the end). When he was on my team he would just randomly (like every 3 minutes) bitch about me somehow in chat. Eventually he stopped losing his mind and started having fun again, but I swear it went on for like four rounds.

Even good players who don't seem like spazzes are vulnerable to this. This one really good sniper who plays on newbgamers, FFVIICLOUD or something gay like that. He's a great sniper, an amicable guy, and really fun to play with. He has his girlfriend play with him named "cloud's girl" which is funny because even though she's pretty good she has absolutely no identity because of the nick. His major problem is that he comes up with excuses when he dies, which so do I, I mean so does everyone. Though he apparently believes in his excuses a hundred percent. This might come with being a really really good player or something, I'm not sure.

So, I got him once as a scout I think, and he said he had a pizza in the oven. I could have let it pass and continued playing, instead I inquired to what exactly was distracting about the oven "were you timing in your head?", "is the oven in viewing distance from the computer?". I swear to god he said "I just had it on my mind".

Pizza on the mind! Granted "I have a pizza in the oven" became a mantra for me, and finally he ducked off to the side of the battlements and started typing a long defense of why exactly his complaint was valid and etc, etc, etc. He was really trying to seriously validate some stupid thing I was just busting his balls on. At this point I seized in and beat him to death with my bat while he was typing. He said he needed to have a smoke and quit. This I must imagine was the angriest smoke of his entire fucking life, I bet the entire cigarette was ashes before he finally had the presence of mind to flick.
