It's called Order of Ecclasia, and you're a chick who goes around hunting down some guy who betrayed THE ORDER o_o (do you really want to give up your life for the order of things? IT WAS NOT MY LIFE TO GIVE UP, AND IT NEVER WAS), and she absorbs magic runes through a big rune painting thing on her back. The runes give you weapons such as the swords, and they use MP, then at the same time the hearts are a separate meter that let you do special attacks. You bind Y and X to weapons, which can be swords or throwing knives or some minor spells, and apparently you can use gear to customize your character to focus more on melee or casting, I'm not totally sure yet. Since your weapons/spells use up magic, you can only attack so much at one time, and you can bind two weapons to Y and X (the same ones even) and alternate hitting them for a sort of rapid fire melee attack style. Your MP regenerates when you stop attacking for a second, and then it zooms all the way to full again, so it's very different from the MP in previous games.
There's an overworld map, with a village that is empty at first, then you go around zones rescuing villagers and they give you quests to bring back this or that item and they will make new shit available in the shop. You can also rescue the villagers cats throughout the levels. Aside from that the rest of the game is sort of a standard Metroid style Castlevania game, which means it's pretty cool. The boss fights have been trickier so far, because they require more trial and error than ever before. There was a crab boss that I had to play like 10 times to get it right, because there were all sorts of tricks to it.
Overal: Neat so far. |
