Go to the door on your right. Move through the hall, shooting any zombies in your way. Go left, shoot out the window, run past the zombies into the subway entrance. Then shoot the car, throw a pipebomb if you have to, and run like hell into the shelter. At the very least, you will create a blockade of zombies that the others will have to shoot through, which will be mildly annoying.

The best result is that you're safe and having a nice cold glass of whatever you like to drink while the other guys are slaughtered by the sudden horde of zombies. If they have voice chat, they will scream obscenities at you. The recommended thing to play during this is kitties to make their pain go away or if you really want to rub it in, play Eye of the Tiger or something.
