Haven't seen it since I was 10 or so, and I remember watching it several times back then (POTENTIAL RAEP VICTIM).
After seeing it again suddenly I realize just how much of the MGS games pretty much rip directly off of this movie.
Except of course Moonwalker is less silly than the writing in the MGS games.
I should probably be a little more specific. The part where the actual "movie" starts (like a half hour in, after some videos trying to plug Jackson's then latest album's B side non-hits TRYING TO DRUM UP MORE SALES), the vaguely ghettoish town looks kind of like the Europe town that Snake wanders around in a few hours (adjusted, not counting cutscenes) into MGS4. Also, there's a scene where Jackson runs from attack dogs in slow motion down a watery sewer or something. He doesn't jump off a waterfall though, but that was ripped off from The Fugitive and shit anyway. |
