| It's like SvenCoop for HL2, but it's really kind of buggy and a lot of the maps are just horrible messes. It could be more stable now, but of course it's hard to regulate third party maps on a mod built almost entirely on third party maps. Since it's supported though I might try it out more. I know they're releasing patches frequently now that they're official on Steam. Also I'm downloading Insurgency right now, I figured I'd try that again since it's been a year.
Personally I would've chosen Dystopia and Zombie Master. Zombie Master has some appeal, maybe not to everyone, but there are some really cool maps for that which are fun to coop with other players and it's always funny to see people go into a frenzy over zombies rushing them. What's really hard about that is that the people making the maps have to supply players with enough ammo, but not too much so they can blow away all zombies, because the zombies are controlled by a single commander player who is trying to kill all of the humans. As it is now the game is pretty balanced, but it usually depends on the maps themselves. I think it would be nice to see this get official Steam support. Also Dystopia is a pretty cool and creative team deathmatch mod. The work on it seems pretty slow, and I think their netcode and shooting stuff code needs a bunch of tweaking, and there are probably still balance issues that need work. Zombie Panic is the zombie mod they went with, and what I played of it, it didn't seem good at all. It just seemed like a Counter-Strike zombie mod, except you get like no ammo and have to spend a bunch of time running, and the zombies are all players instead of swarms of NPCs, and they are practically invincible, except to hundreds of headshots or some shit, I dunno. |
