Ok, I think I've shat up enough threads talking about how CoH is better than all current MMOs. This will probably be the last one.
In CoH, all your powers have slots in them and the equipment are little enhancement disks. It's exactly like Materia in FF7 except that once you lock in an enhancement you can't take it back out. You can upgrade an enhancement or throw it in the trash, but you can't take out into your inventory. Anybody can use any enhancement if they are within 3 levels of the enhancement's level and that their power matches the enhancement power. For example, you can't waste a healing enhancement by putting it into your attack powers and you can't waste an aggro-management enhancement into your jump ability. Enhancements are plentiful, there are multiple shops in each zone where you can buy them OR you can get them from the auction house OR they will appear in your inventory as you fight villains. The genius part is that there is zero arguing over who gets what drops - the game just doles them out directly into each person's inventory. Think for a minute how much better all other MMOs would be if their designers had learned anything since 1997 and just got rid of loot arguments! And, since no enhancement is locked to a person unless they are actively using it (by definition), even when you get an enhancement you have no use for there is no problem giving it away or selling it to someone who can use it.
Potions are likewise usable by anybody and since the devs are not retards the potions heal a PERCENTAGE of your health, not a fixed number of hitpoints (durr durr 1985 game design). |
