| When I was a kid there was a group of popular kids that hung out with one of my friends. I kind of hated them and loved them at the same time because I was a social outcast due to my intense nerdiness. I think that based on popular 80s movies like Heathers this scene is pretty well set, yes? Replace Winona Ryder with my friend and the fat chick with me (though I was not fat, just nerdy).
Anyways, at one point by accident I spent some time hanging out with them because it was spring break and we all happened to be riding bikes in the same cul-de-sac and by some weird moon/planet coincidence I got invited to go play board games in one of their houses! Unbelievable! In a popular kid's house! It's like meeting the Queen or getting to hang out with Keith Richards or something. So we were playing some game (Sorry, maybe?) and we were kidding around having a good old time and as things were getting a bit... ribald I made a joke about beating off. *silence* "Um, you mean jacking off?" "Yeah, same thing." "Uh, no. It's called jacking off." "..." Fun's over folks! It was weird and I left, never to hang out with them again until college when they couldn't understand why I didn't go to their keg parties. Later, in high school, I had a similar encounter trying to convince people that a "clit" was part of a "pussy" and not just another swear word that meant pussy. I was stuck on the opposite side. I felt like I was banging that drum every goddamn day for a year because my name is so easy to turn into "clit" and the jock/stoners which are so prevalent in small towns thought the similarity was such a hilarious put down. Moral: people are goddamn morons and that's why I don't leave the house except to got to work. |
