Hey, do you know what a great game to play is if you like Starships Unlimited? It's called STAR FUCKING SHIPS UNLIMITED.
If you prefer focusing on building ships and ship combat, then fine, get that. If you like keeping ship combat a little more high-level and focusing on stuff like economy and influence and empire building, then GalCiv 2 is the best space 4X yet, by a fairly substantial margin.
If you like match-three games, GalCiv2 also falls short.
It also fails completely as a text editor.
Also it can't cook you dinner.
